Visiting Broken Beach (Pasih Uug) on Nusa Penida, Bali – During the two-day vacation on Nusa Penida, my friends and I kicked off the journey from Broken Beach on the first day. Located in the western part of Nusa Penida, Broken Beach is a must-visit hidden-gem that you surely don’t want to miss it!

Here’s my experience visiting Broken Beach (Pasih Uug) on Nusa Penida, Bali

We headed to Broken Beach from Coco Resort Penida, our home during the stay, with the help of some tour guides doubled as our motorbike drivers. Prior to reaching the spot, we had our brunch at Warung NG placed on the roadside.

How to get there?

We chose to ride motorbikes because of Nusa Penida’s shattered streets in the western part. I would say it was a really painful journey and you’ve got to prepare for it but it was really worth visiting.

It took approximately 50 minutes from the resort to Broken Beach by motorbikes and even more by cars. I suggest you come early in the morning and choose the motorbike instead to experience an easy and effective journey.

How much does it cost entering the area?

The entry fee is super cheap, priced at IDR 5,000 per person since this place is a newly-recognizable tourism for visitors especially foreign visitors. It’s not gonna empty your wallet, I promise.

What’s offered?

Before arriving at the spot, you will be welcomed with a breathtaking view of blue sky and blue sea blended in one color makes us feel in a different planet, seriously! I’ve never seen that beauty in my entire life. It’s so spectacular!

You know you’ve arrived when you can witness many visitors start queuing at one phenomenal spot. This spot offers you a scenic background where the Broken Beach takes place. It’s called that way because there’s a hole right in the middle of the beach cliff and locals start calling it Broken Beach or in the Balinese called Pasih Uug. Be aware of strong winds that are ready to mess your hair and if you’re not careful enough you can fall down.

Other than that spot, there’s another spot that’s probably a hidden spot in which visitors can capture a different angle of the Broken Beach. Firstly, you should cross the perforated bridge and trek for a few minutes while enjoying an expanse of green lawn along the way. Be careful of sharp rocks and ready to discover the beauty of Broken Beach.

It’s not only about the beauty of mother nature, Broken Beach also offers an uncommon attraction where stingrays and dolphins swim in the sea early in the morning locals say. So, don’t think twice to visit though it takes a tiring journey!

Feeling tired of exploring the hidden-gem? No worries, you can restore your energy and enjoy fresh coconut water at warung nearby the parking lot. It only costs IDR 20,000 each. Broken Beach is really close to Angel’s Billabong and usually, visitors stop by the place afterward. Check my experience visiting Angel’s Billabong!
